Currently, our store features Arcadia Publishing books by local authors, the coffee table book Voices of the Valley, celebrating Mitchell County’s Sesquicentennial by Elizabeth Hunter, and the 1880 Federal Census for MItchell County (which also features a good portion of present-day Avery County, North Carolina).
In addition to our online bookstore, the Mitchell County Historical Society has a series of Christmas Ornaments featuring historical locations throughout Mitchell County. These glass ornaments are custom-designed and all are collector’s items.
All proceeds from the MCHS Online Store go to fund the activities and projects of the Mitchell County Historical Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to the collection and preservation of the history and heritage of Mitchell County, North Carolina.
