Nothing brings a town or community together like a parade, whether it be for Veteran’s Day, Fourth of July, or Christmas. These pictures from the 1960’s show how the entire region would turn out on a cold December afternoon for a Christmas Parade in downtown Spruce Pine. These scenes also give a glimpse into the past with many of the stores and businesses along Locust Avenue and Oak Avenue long gone.
